* Enligt Encyclopedia of Arda hade Thingol följande titlar; "Greycloak, The Hidden King, King of Doriath, Lord of Beleriand, Singollo"
Tolkien gateway ger samma information.
* Encyclopedia of Arda skriver vidare:
Citera:
The kingship of the Teleri was split between the brothers Olwë and Elwë. Olwë ruled from his pearl-city of Alqualondë on the shores of the Bay of Eldamar, but his brother Elwë had been left behind in Beleriand with many of his people. There, Elwë founded a new realm in the forested heart of that land, and became the King of Doriath and Lord of Beleriand
* The Silmarillion, "Of the Return of the Noldor" beskriver Thingol sin roll:
Citera:
"In Hithlum the Noldor have leave to dwell, and in the highlands of Dorthonion, and in the lands east of Doriath that are empty and wild... for I am the Lord of Beleriand, and all who seek to dwell there shall hear my word."
* Wikipedia skriver:
Citera:
Thingol is introduced as the King of Doriath, King of the Sindar, High-king[1] and Lord of Beleriand.

* I min svenska Silmarillion (1992) kan vidare läsas i Quenta SIlmarillion;
Citera:
Om laiquendi (nandor) i Ossiriand står det, trots att delar av dem senare gick upp i sindars släkte, då deras ledare Denethor dräpts i beleriands första slag;
Citera:
